I would personally like to thank all my readers, friends and family members for voting for Chica Papillon in the SA Blog Awards. The support was phenomenal, but unfortunately was not enough to compete with Best Entertainment Blog Wat Kyk Jy? I was utterly impressed by their amounts of hits (fast approaching 3 million) and variety on South African music. They 100% deserved first place!

It has been an incredible journey of growth. The pieces this year have been extremely personal and will (hopefully) be published in a book in the coming year. The pieces on abuse, divorce and relationships got the most responses. I urge you all to comment more… That way I can learn more on what my readers expect or need from the writing.
This year, I have learnt that writing is not only about exploring one’s experiences, but one’s soul. Last year, it was more about being a witness. Today, I am much more a participant. There’s something extremely spiritual in sharing what my friends (with their permission) or I have been through.
